Making Wanaka SUC (single use cup) Free

Amidst the beauty of this thriving town, a silent yet significant movement has been gaining momentum – the SUC-Free Campaign.

SUC, short for Single-Use Cup, has become a global environmental concern, with Wanaka taking proactive steps to address this issue head-on. Spearheaded by local activists, community organisations, and environmentally conscious residents, the SUC-Free Campaign is eliminating the use of single-use cups and also promoting a plastic free environment across businesses, households and public spaces in Wanaka.

Why SUC-Free?

Single-use cups and plastics pose a grave threat to our environment, contributing to pollution, harming wildlife, and polluting our oceans and waterways. Wanaka's commitment to becoming SUC-free stems from a deep-rooted desire to preserve the town's natural beauty for generations to come and to reduce its ecological footprint.

Supporting the journey Towards Sustainability

The journey towards a SUC-free Wanaka has been a collaborative effort, bringing together individuals, businesses and local council in a unified mission. We are right behind this mission.

We welcome our new tenants to Wanaka with a special gift bag that is proudly plastic free and 100% local! We are committed to the challenge by implementing sustainable practices, offering reusable alternatives, reducing packaging waste in our own business, and adopting eco-friendly packaging solutions where ever possible.

Wanaka is making huge strides towards becoming SUC-free, so lets all celebrate the progress and be part of the continued momentum and inspire others to join the movement. We are proud to support a community that is paving the way for a brighter, more sustainable future, where the beauty of its landscapes is preserved, and the environment thrives for generations to come.
